About RRB Ajmer Zone.

The Railway Recruitment Board Ajmer comes under the supervision of  Railway Ministry, Government of India. It is actually responsible for providing Sarkari Naukri Group-C/ D/ Junior Engineer/ SSE/ TTE/ Ticket Collector/ Clerk/ Assistant Station Master/ SM & ASM. The RRB Ajmer region namely Ajmer, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner Divisions of North-Western Railway and Kota Division of West-Central Railway. North Western RRB HQ are Jaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur & Bikaner divisions & West Central Kota division.

Selection Process.

The candidate are selected on the basis of written test. The shortlisted candidate are then called for Aptitude/Skill Test/Interview etc. may also be conducted wherever applicable. The shortlisted candidates will be called for verification of the original documents according to merit & reservation of OBC/ SC/ ST candidates.

Syllabus & Pattern.

The candidate must download latest Syllabus for RRB Ajmer Bharti 2016-2017. The syllabus for the written examination is based on 8th/ 10th/ 12th Class standard. The syllabus is basically based on the post you are applying. The candidate has to sit for the objective type MCQ (Hindi & English) language. There are questions from sections i.e General Knowledge, General English / General Hindi, General Arithmetic, Analytical and Quantitative Skills subjects. The question paper will be in English, Hindi and Urdu as well as in regional languages. The duration of written test duration is 60 minutes to 120 minutes.  There shall be negative marking in written examination and marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer at 1/3 of the allotted marks for each question.

ADMIT CARD DOWNLOAD.

All the candidate must download their permission letter cum Call Letter for RRB Ajmer Written Test 2016. To download the admit card, the candidate can visit official website before 10 days of exam date. The timetable of Aptitude/Skill Test/ Interview will be fixed by the RRB and will be intimated to the eligible candidates through Phone SMS/ Email. The request to chance in Exam Center is based on the rule provided by the RRB.

Application Form Fees.

The candidate must pay the form fees

  • The SC/ST/Female/Minority/Economically Backward/Ex-Servicemen /Physically Handicapped candidates are exempted from examination fees.
  • For Unreserved/OBC Candidates the examination fees payable will be indicated against each post.
  • The candidates should write the Employment Notice No., Name of the post applied for, Category Number of the post and their name and postal address on the reverse side of the Bank Draft/Front side at the space provided in the Indian Postal Order.
  • Remittance of examination fees in any other form except Bank Draft/Indian Postal Order will not be accepted.
  •  The particulars of Bank Draft/Indian Postal Order submitted as examination fees should also be indicated at the prescribed place in the application form.
  • Application not accompanied with Bank Draft/Indian Postal Order of requisite amount, wherever required towards examination fees, will be summarily rejected.

The SC/ ST candidates gets free Second Class Railway Pass is applicable when they are called for written /
Aptitude Test/Skill test/Interview/document verification provided they submit valid caste certificate.  The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years.

Medical Standard & Requirements.

The candidates recommended for appointment will have to pass requisite medical fitness test(s) conducted by the Railway Administration to ensure that the candidates are medically fit to carry out the duties connected with the post. Visual Acuity Standard is one of the important criteria of medical fitness of railway staff. The medical requirements against different medical standards for different categories are outlined below:

3 A-3 Physically fit in all respects. Visual Standards—Distance Vision: 6/9,6/9 with or without glasses (power of lenses not to exceed 2D). Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses and must pass test for Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Field of Vision & Night Vision.
4 B-1 Physically fit in all respects. Visual Standards — Distance Vision: 6/9,6/12 with or without glasses (power of lenses not to exceed 4D). Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or close work is required and must pass test for Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Field of Vision & Night Vision.

6 C-1 Physically fit in all respects. Visual Standards — Distance Vision: 6/12, 6/18 with or without glasses. Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or close work is required.
7 C-2 Physically fit in all respects. Visual Standards — Distance Vision: 6/12, Nil with or without glasses. Near Vision, Sn: 0.6 combined with or without glasses when reading or close work is required.
  • The above medical standards (Criteria) are indicative and not exhaustive and apply to candidates in general.
  • For Ex-Servicemen different standards apply.
  • Candidates applying for the post of ASM/ALP/Motorman should enclose a medical certificate from a Registered Eye Specialist as per prescribed format given below. Medical Certificate other than the format prescribed below will not be accepted and the application may be summarily rejected.

Candidates qualifying in examination(s) but failing in the prescribed medical examination(s) conducted by Railway will not be considered for any alternative appointment.

Age Limit Relaxation.

In Indian Railway Recruitment, the upper age limit is relaxable as under, subject to submission of requisite certificate. Please check notice for more, below is the RRB Ajmer Age Limit 2016.

  • By 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
  • By 3 years for OBC candidates.
  • For Ex-Servicemen, up to the extent of service rendered in Defence plus 3 years provided they have put in more than 6 months service after attestation. For Ex­serviceman applying for the Apprentice categories of posts i.e. Traffic Apprentice and Commercial Apprentice the upper age limit is 40 years inclusive of all other relaxation in age limit
  • By 5 years for persons who were ordinarily domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the State of Jammu & Kashmir from 01/01/1980 to 31/12/1989.
  • By 10 years for Physically Handicapped candidates irrespective of the fact whether the post is reserved or not, provided the post is identified as suitable for PWDs. In addition, the candidates belonging to OBC and SC / ST are eligible for normal relaxation of 3 and 5 years respectively.
  • For the serving Group ‘C’ and Group ‘D’ Railway Staff and casual labours/ substitutes, the relaxation in upper age limits will be up to 40 years for Unreserved candidates, 45 years for SC/ST candidates and 43 years for OBC candidates, provided they have put in a minimum of 3 years service (continuous or in broken spells). For those working in Quasi-Administrative offices of the Railway organization such as Railway Canteens, Co­operative Societies and Institutes, the relaxation in upper age limits will be up to the length of service rendered subject to maximum 5 years.
  • Upper age limit in case of widows, divorced women and women judicially separated from the husband but not remarried shall be relaxed up to 35 years for Unreserved, 38 for OBC and 40 years for SC/ST candidates.
  • (a) The upper age limit in case of course completed act apprentices applying for those posts whose minimum qualification is ITI/Course completed Act apprentice shall be relaxed to the extent of apprentice training undergone by them under the Apprenticeship Act 1961. (b) Upper age limit for the Course Completed Act Apprentice will be 35 years if he / she had commenced Act Apprenticeship under the Apprenticeship Act before attaining the age of 25 years. In addition the candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC are eligible for normal relaxation of 5 years and 3 years respectively
  • No age relaxation is allowed to SC/ST/OBC candidates applying against unreserved vacancies.
