The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) has issued recruitment notice for 44 Technical Grade-II post in Water Supply Department. The TSPSC Technical Grade-II (Civil/ Electrical/ Mechanical) Written exam syllabus & exam pattern for all papers is given below. The TSPSC also provide written test syllabus for English/ GK/ Aptitude Test/ Numerical Aptitude/ Maths/ Computer and other subject.   2. Clay products- Bricks, Stoneware and other building materials. Brick bonds. Construction of buildings foundation, DPC, Scaffolding, Doors and Windows, parts. Pitched roofs and various types – parts, Multi-floored buildings, Earthquake resistance buildings, Stair cases.
  3. Surveying -types, Instruments, Conventional signs, Chain survey – offsets, locating details, Plotting. Compass survey – bearings, local attraction, declination. Plane tabling – methods, instruments used in plane table survey, Lehman’s rule
  4. Levelling – differential levelling, contour plotting, earthwork calculation, theodolite – horizontal and Vertical angle measurements, Setting out of building works.
  5. Roads, Railways and Bridges – Alignment, Construction of road bridge, Components, Types, Location.
  6. Irrigation – Hydrology – Storage / Diversion head works, Canal Structures, Cross drainage works.

  2. Batteries: primary and secondary, lead acid cells, methods of charging – testing and application of batteries, invertors, battery chargers and maintenance
  3. Magnetism: Magnetic materials and properties – laws of magnetism -electromagnetism, electromagnetic induction
  4. Fundamentals of AC: Simple problems of AC fundamentals, power, power factor, single phase and three phase circuits
  5. Basic Electronics: Electronic components, rectifiers, amplifiers, oscillators and power electronic components
  1. DC Machines: construction, working principle and simple problems on DC generators and motors, speed control and applications of DC motors – windings
  2. Transformers: construction, working principle, basic concepts and simple problems on transformers – windings – auto transformers, power transformers, CT & PT
  3. AC Machines: basic concepts, construction principle and simple problems on three phase and single phase induction motor, universal motor, alternators, synchronous motors and their applications and windings – concept of power electronic drives

MECHANICAL (I.T.I Trade)

  1. Safety and soft skills: General precautions, stores procedures, introduction to first aid, operation of electrical mains, introduction to PPEs, introduction to 5S concept and applications. Response to emergencies like power failure, system failure, fire.
  2. Marking and Measuring tools: Steel rule, try square, callipers (i.e. vernier, inside, outside, odd leg callipers), Micrometers, Bevel protractor, gauges like vernier height and depth gauges, slip gauges, sine bar to measure angles and tapers, V-block, Punches, straight edge, scribing block and surface plate.
  3. Hand tools: Hammers, chisels, files, hack saw, taps and dies, reamers, clamps, bench vices.
  4. Physical and mechanical properties of Materials: Strength, elasticity, plasticity, hardness, toughness, ductility, malleability, fatigue and machinability.
  5. Heat treatment of metals: Annealing, normalising, tempering, hardening and carburising.
  6. Screw threads: Forms and types of screw threads.
